Life Sciences and Technologies Cluster
Along the Ticino Valley, from Varese to Como, through the Milan pharma-cluster and Pavia, runs the District for New Technologies and Life Sciences (Ticino Valley). It is a potential transnational meta-district composed by a network of universities, research centers, centers for technology transfer, hospitals, healthcare institutions, companies and territorial institutions.
This is an emerging production system that stems from technological diversification of traditional sectors and involves businesses and institutions that are carrying out research and innovation in the field of human health (biomedical and biotechnology) and environmental protection (green and clean technologies).
