9/1/2010Serial Entrepreneurship just published a new study

The article, written by Alberto Onetti, Marco Talaia, Manuela Presutti, Vincenza Odorici and Sameer Verma, is entitled "The role of serial entrepreneurs in the internationalization of global start-ups. A business case". It deals with the impact of prior entrepreneurial experience on the internationalization of a firm.

A study about the impact of prior entrepreneurial experience on the internationalization of the companies has been published in the Journal of Strategic Management Education (JSME). This study approaches the phenomenon known as “serial entrepreneurship”, i.e. the circumstance that the same entrepreneur sets up more than one company over the years. The experience accrued in prior companies is carried as a “dowry” in the new established firm. In particular, this kind of experience could boost the internationalization of the company, contributing to generate the so-called “born global” companies or “instant international” companies. The study, carried out in partnership with the University of Bologna and the San Francisco State University, regards the case-study of a South African serial entrepreneur (Mark Shuttleworth) and analyzes the business initiatives that he has developed over time.
